HACS Overview

HACS (Hillingdon Autistic Care & Support) is a registered Charity and has been supporting those affected by autism across London and the Home Counties since 1997.  The charity’s aim is to minimise the disabilities and maximise the abilities of their clients.  HACS have an excellent professional reputation for delivering high quality services to families, health, social care and the education sector.  The Trustees and staff of HACS believe the natural progression for the Charity is to extend our expertise to open our own school, filling a significant gap in provision for pupils on the Autism Spectrum.
The charity works in partnership with Health, Educational and Social Services to enhance the quality and provision of all services for parents and carers of adults and children on the autistic spectrum.  To that end they offer:

  • A telephone helpline run by staff trained in supporting parents and carers through statutory assessment of special educational needs
  • Staff trained to support parent and carers with welfare benefit rights
  • Bi-annual conferences with professional speakers discussing topics associated with autism
  • Training and workshops designed for parents and professionals
  • Access to an ever expanding library that has a wide range of books and relevant documentation relating to the autistic spectrum

In addition they provide:

  • A quarterly newsletter with up to date information and research in autism
  • Monthly support groups with guest speakers
  • Family fun days
  • Holiday playschemes (Ofsted approved)
  • After School Clubs, Movie Nights and various activities for young people with ASD
  • Saturday Club for 3 – 10 years
